Medical Aesthethics

Aesthetic medicine is a term for medical specialties that focus on improving cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, spider veins and varicose veins. Aesthetic medicine includes both surgical and non-surgical procedures. At our center, we perform non-surgical, elective procedures such as botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, radio-frequency and ultrasound skin tightening, chemical peel, non-surgical liposuction, and sousaphones vein ablation for varicose veins. Although these procedures are typically elective, they can significantly improve quality of life, psychological well being and social function.

Indications:

It is important that each patient is assessed by a physician prior to the procedure to ensure that the elective procedure is the most appropriate for the patient and to ensure that the symptom being treated is not a sign of an underlying medical condition that should be stabilized with medical therapies.
